Name: Kristina Rolph
Hometown: Columbia, MD
Class: 2015
Major: Astrophysics, Applied Mathematics
Campus activities: Oriflamme Yearbook, HerCampus Writer, ARCC Team Leader, Astronomy Tutor
Role in F&M Builders: Development of a K'Nex roller coaster is my focus of F&M Builders. I would like to set up a track that runs around the circumference of the Physics floor in Hackman. Interested students could add to the track to make it more exciting to watch. Professors could use the roller coaster as a demonstration of transfer of energy in their introductory physics classes.
Unique contributions to the club: Currently the only woman on the F&M Builders, and encouraging more F&M ladies to join the team!
Future goals: I would like to pursue a career in climate science. It's about time we start to confront this global issue head on.
Inspirational quote: "A scientist in his laboratory is not a mere technician: he is also a child confronting natural phenomena that impress him as though they were fairy tales." - Marie Curie
Favorite drink: Strawberry lemonade
